Copyright and Creative Commons

So, you want to use something I’ve posted...
I am a firm believer in allowing people to use, edit, and re-use media. As a result of this belief I am placing the media and content of this blog and my main website under a Creative Commons license.

What does this mean for you?
It means that you can use the media (photos, illustrations, and videos) in a noncommercial method as long as you attribute the pieces you used to me and agree to allow others to do the same for your derivative work that includes my contribution. The only limitation outside of the Creative Commons license for media is if the Kids Alive International logo is present in the work you wish to use. See the section below concerning Kids Alive for further information and instructions on how to proceed. Please refer to the following graphic and license for how to attribute the work you incorporate into yours...

Permissions beyond the scope of this license may be available at http://www.mallaidh.org/blog/Copyright_Information.html.

What about writings?
I have chosen to maintain a little more control over what I write. You are free to use any text of mine as long as you attribute the source, it is noncommercial, and you do not make any changes. Please attribute any text you use in the following way...

Creative Commons License

Anything else?
If you wish to use media or text in a manner that isn’t clearly defined by my use of the Creative Commons licenses above please contact me and I’ll see what we can work out.

What about Kids Alive International (logo, content, etc)?
The Kids Alive International logo and all content that is created by this organization is copyrighted under applicable United States and international copyright and trademark laws. Please contact Kids Alive International if you have questions regarding media or content created by my employer. As an employee of Kids Alive International I am free to use the logo in newsletters, programs, and other content but I am unable to authorize anyone else to do so.

Images, media, and content used on my site...where do they come from?
All media and content on my site is created by me. If I use media or content from someplace else I will make a note somewhere in the post (usually at the bottom). If for some reason something slips past and I use something of yours without attribution please let me know so I can address it.
